Trying to get organized...

Okay, my baby is now 8 weeks! Where did the time go?! Joey rarely does what I have in mind for him (like sleeping for instance, after he's been up for a while!) but I've been feeling so disorganized I had to re-create some kind of routine for myself, as I adjust to having two kids. I'll spare you the details as to what that means specifically for me, but one thing I am going to try to do, is blog once a week. When Lydia was little, I thought it would be so cool to have a journal for her, that she can read when she's older. I have written notes to her here and there that I keep in her baby book, but as to the day to day stuff, I realized our blog is the best way to journal about the big and little things that happen in our lives. It's fun to be able to share with others what is going on with our family, but I hope that our family blog can also serve as a family "journal".

Summer Nights

Tonight was a BEE-U-tiful evening, and we got to spend part of it outside hanging out as a family. I got some great pics of Marc with the kids! I look forward to doing this many more times this summer!

Siblings

It's a lot work to have two little ones, but so neat to see them interact, or at least to see Lydia interact with Joey. She loves to help (sometimes... :) ) and here's a pic of her helping me feed Joey his bottle.

And this is per Marc's request. A comparison of Lydia at 6 weeks to Joey at 6 weeks. Both of these pics were taken of them playing under the activity gym. They do look very similar. It's fun to go back and look at Lydia's old pictures. Wow, how much she has grown and changed!

Welcome Joseph "Joey" Alexander

Whew! It's been a very full week! Joseph Alexander entered this world, last Saturday, April 17, at 5:03 pm. We already love him to pieces. He had a rough start, as he was in the NICU the entire hospital stay. But thank God he is a healthy (and HUNGRY!) boy! They admitted him to the NICU due to a "blue" spell he had and a heart murmur they heard. They monitored him until we left the hospital, on Monday April 19, and we are happy to report, the murmur and "blue" spell were just transitional things that didn't amount to anything.

We are so happy to be at home, and able to hold him and love him, and have him in our family. Here are a few pictures from his first week!

Finally able to leave the NICU and go home!

Playing in the back "yard"

We got a taste of summer last week. One day it was about 80 degrees. And although we don't have our sand and water table yet (it's in my parent's basement), I gave Lydia a bowl full of water with some plastic kitchen items. That kept her busy and happy for a while! It was fun to watch her play!

Chomp chomp!

Marc is trying to pass along his love for raw vegetables to our daughter. This is not a bad thing! He was eating celery last night and she insisted on trying some. It made for a cute pic!

Baby's Room

The baby's room is done! If he came tonight, we would be ready for him!

Thanks to my mom and dad for your help in making this happen!

A closer look......

I sure hope he likes animals! Lydia definitely enjoys going in his room and checking out all the animals!
